Finding a Breeder

Golden Retrievers are a wonderful choice for a family pet. To ensure you find the healthiest and happiest puppy, it's crucial to buy from a reputable breeder.

We would recommend visiting a show where you will have the opportunity to meet a large number of Golden Retrievers and engage with knowledgeable breeders.

Our shows are help late March/early April in Tarporley, Cheshire, and there is also a championship show held in Blackpool in June. These events are a great place to ask questions and gather information. Do bear in mind though, that breeders spend a lot of money entering shows, please try not to disturb them if they are just about to go into the ring with their dog. If you come along to our Show, our committee members will always be happy to have a chat with you.

Colour choice should always be a preference, rather than the deciding factor. We hear the terms 'English cream' and 'fox red', and people determining whether they have a working or show bred Golden, purely based on colour. The only way to understand the breeding of a dog, is if they are Royal Kennel Club Registered, which enables us to look back at the dogs in the pedigree.
