Welcome

The North West Golden Retriever Club was founded in 1981 to promote interest in the breed in the North West area. The first Championship Show was held in April 1986, and the Club now holds a combined Championship Show and Open Show late March or early April at Kelsall Hill Equestrian Centre in Tarporley, Cheshire.

Events

Throughout the year the Club holds a number of events, from shows to social and educational events, walks and fun days.

Health & Education

Golden Retrievers are predisposed to a number of health conditions. The British Veterinary Association, in conjunctions with the Royal Kennel Club. have instigated a number of health testing schemes. A good breeder has to work very hard to produce a good looking dog, with an excellent temperament that is free from health problems.

Showing

The Club holds two shows a year, one Championship Show and one Open Show.

Working

The Golden Retriever is a versatile dog, with the breed standard calling for a biddable and intelligent dog. Although originally bred to work in the field retrieving game, their attributes also make the Golden Retriever an excellent choice for many roles. It doesn't matter if they are show or working bred, you will find your golden loves having a job to do.

Rescue & Rehoming

The Rescue Trust of North West Golden Retriever Club, Charity No 1122991, provides a dedicated service for the rescue and re-homing of goldens. If for any reason your circumstances mean you need to re-home your golden retriever, we will do our very best to find it a good home.

The banner features four of our wonderful rehomes, happy and settled in their new homes.
